Oak Cottage

Recently refurbished cotswold stone cottage

Nestled beneath Broadway Tower on the side of Middle Hill, Oak Cottage offers the most stunning views across Cotswold countryside, a serene retreat from the hassles of daily life.  Peace and tranquillity envelops you interrupted only by bird song.

Oak Cottage, the first of our properties to be completed, is one of three original estate cottages to the elegant Middle Hill House.  Built in Cotswold stone, it has recently been comprehensively refurbished to offer light and spacious luxury living accommodation for up to four people. Approached by a half-mile track climbing through open fields and magical woodland, Oak Cottage is the perfect hide-away yet so close to village life, pubs and restaurants. Private Parking for up to four cars is available in front of the cottage.

A porch entrance and the original wooden front door opens on to the dining room.

Living & Dining

An elegant, spacious room furnished with a round oak dining table and four oak & suede chairs.  Antique prints adorn the walls and light streams in through the window but for darker evenings the warmth from the double sided wood burner is shared with the living room.

The living room mullioned window looks out over the valley and the views are best appreciated from the comfy window seat.  Farrow and Ball pastel painted walls make the living area both light and airy yet cosy.  Beautifully furnished with upholstered chairs and sofa, the living room is a delightful room to sit and relax.  For chilly evenings and winter nights the wood burner provides warmth and comfort.

A newly refitted kitchen the furnishings are in keeping with the character of the cottage.   Stand at the sink and appreciate the views.  The units provide ample storage with all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils you’ll either want or need.  The dark hardwood worktop complements the light cupboards and electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer are all built-in.   A breakfast bar provides ample space for a quick meal.

Master Bedroom  with en-suite cloak room

Featuring a king size bed , this bedroom gives a light and cosy ambience with romantic views overlooking the Snowshill Valley.

Twin Bedded Room

This room is very similar in style and size to the master bedroom but offers the choice of twin bed arrangement or super-king sized bed if you choose – just let us know and we’ll set it up for you.  Once again, you will be delighted by romantic views.

Bathroom & Utility Room

The modern, spacious bathroom provides both a bath and separate shower. Creature comforts are a must with under-floor heating and large heated towel rail. Naturally, a selection of quality toiletries awaits.

A separate utility room is the perfect place for boots and coats as well as providing both a Miele washing machine and tumble dryer for your convenience.

To the rear of the property is a private garden, mostly laid to lawn, with garden table and chairs provided for al fresco eating.  Steps lead up into the wooded area behind.   To the front of the cottage is a lawned area communal to the three cottages and the parking area.   The footpath passing in front of the cottage connects to the Cotswold Way.
